My Father's Child Book Launch

Many people's biggest source of regret is not chasing the opportunities that came their way during life. This is a sad reality and teaches us not to shy away from doing the things we wish to do during our time on earth.

Pastor Norman Clack's book, releases on 29 August and takes a deep dive into topics of regret, trauma, abuse and reconciliation. He speaks about his own experiences of living with a father who was an addict and how that impacted their relationship. 'I Am My Father's Child' is a raw and honest study of substance abuse, broken parent-child relationships and how God can restore even the most broken people.

Sandwich day with Belly2Brain

Cradlestone Mall and Belly2Brain Non-Profit have been in a proud partnership since 2022 and in 2023 had the inaugural Change to Uncage Event where founder of Belly2Brain – Dominique Tibbles – locked herself in a cage for 67 hours for 67 minutes for Madiba Day to raise funds to make peanut butter and jam sandwiches to feed our community.

For many of us a peanut butter and jam sandwich is a snack but for others it may be their only meal for the day.

Last year – Belly2Brain with the support of Cradlestone Mall as their venue sponsor, donations from patrons of the mall and volunteers joining in the “spreading the love” were able to bless 15,000 souls with a meal. The target this year – 16,000 sarmies!

So, although we intend to feed at least 16,000 souls, there are over 21,000 destitute individuals of which just over 1000 are children needing a meal and dignity.

How do we do this?

Welcome to the second Change to Uncage Event!

If you are interested in partnering with us to feed the bodies (and minds!) of the vulnerable in our community then:

Belly2Brain needs to raise R42,500 to make this possible (which is less than R3 a person per sandwich) and Dominique will be locked in the Cage for 67 hours to raise awareness and these funds from Monday the 15th at 12h00pm exiting the Cage on Thursday morning at 07h00am to start the spreading.

Who receives the sandwiches:

See the attached C2U Beneficiaries poster – 7 organizations will collect the sandwiches at 15h00 on the 18th to distribute to the homeless and hungry.

How can you participate in this annual event:

We ask that you support this initiative by:

  • Popping by the cage

  • Take part in the daily activities

  • Help spread the love on the 18th

  • Engage with Dominique (Find out about their future outreaches such as Handbags of Hope in August and Blessing Bags in December to name two of the many other outreaches Belly2brain is involved in for our community)

  • Please Donate

    • Belly2Brain NPC is a Section 18A registered organization and will provide donation certificates to donars who can submit the donation on their 2025 income tax return and corporates can submit for their CSI Spend - Every R100 feeds 48 people a sarmie. You can donate directly to the Belly2brain Fnb bank account no 6285 073 1160 or pay via Yoco at the Cage.

We look forward to the target of 16,000 sarmies being reached and making a little impact in someone’s lives.
